I was carpooling/traveling to DC today with someone who had that lovely philosophy.
She (and I by quiet association) got to know:
A 9-month-old baby and family visiting for the Cherry Blossom Festival
A very helpful security guard at a museum who came to America from Sudan many years ago. He takes the Bill of Rights very seriously.
The owner of a very peppy 17-yr-old tiny dog from a shelter.
The owner of an elderly lab (who directed us to a coffee house).
An entire Metro car full of people who did not know each other but all seemed to be in a jolly mood.
We had worse luck with Buzz Aldrich. Interesting interview but he was in and out fast.
Myself, I made friends with the museum’s lady who was giving out brochures. I had to wait outside for an hour for everyone to show up, so we got to chat about church and stuff.
I still have a lot to learn to get as adept as my companion at this!
It was a magical day full of brass bands, fountains, and cherry blossoms. I
Wow! That sounds delightful! I love people like that. They are magical! My best friend from when I was a kid is that way.
